Düsseldorf, March 31st 2017. The first edition of Germany`s new bike show for finest bike culture welcomed 10.000 visitors on both exhibition days. The wonderful Areal Böhler became the place to be for bike lovers for two days. The Cyclingworld Düsseldorf offered app. 175 different brands from its 122 exhibitors. The visitors had the chance to test ride more than 180 bikes on different test drive areas including a specially build Offroad-Parc.

After two setup-days without any complications the CYCLINGWORLD Düsseldorf opened their doors on time at 10 a.m. on Saturday morning and quite fast the Alten Schmiedehallen were filled up with people. You could see smiling faces everywhere as the show offered a huge variety of eye catching and interesting products.

At the beginning of the show the four awards for 2017 were handed out to the proud winners. Almost 10.000 votes built the basis for the awards in an open voting on the Cyclingworld Homepage. Here are the award winners:

Best Race-Bike: Velocipedo – Outrider

Best Urban-Bike: Velonia Bicycles – VIKS GT

Best E-Bike: Ampler – Hawk

Best Cargo-Bike: Butchers & Bicycles – MK1-E

Among the visitors was also the mayor of the City of Düsseldorf and he was quiet interested, as we all know, that he is a great fan of the bicycle. Also some real high class bike pros were seen at the show: Former professional rider Fränk Schleck, 3rd place Tour de France, Udo Hempel, Olympic Gold Medalist Trackracing, Hans-Peter Durst, the only German athlete who won two gold medals in Rio 2016,  Fabian Wegmann (three times German Champion Road) and also Dino Gerst, one of the most successful riders from Düsseldorf.

To close the first day of the show the CYCLINGWORLD CycloCross Challenge was started right behind the exhibition hall. A fun race into the sunset. Perfect surrounding for a nice chill out!

Sunday started with a “Morning-Session-of-Legends” and was continued with quiet a lot more visitors than on Saturday morning. The Testing-Area called “Demoworld” was crowded and on all the booths you could see the exhibitors strongly involved in talks with interested visitors. Quiet nice to see, that many different characters came together. That’s the way it should be, and that’s one of the basic ideas of the Cyclingworld Düsseldorf.

The program on the stage of our auditorium was very diverse and the special exhibition “200 years of the bicycle” with support of the Bicycle-Museum Bad Brückenau offered a rare retrospective view on the bicycle.

On both days we started different social rides. Thanks for the support to our partners “listnride”, “Schicke Mütze” and “200PRO”. And thanks to the one who was responsible for two days of sunshine during our show!

To mention everything that was going on during the first two days of the Cyclingworld Düsseldorf would be way too much. We saw smiling faces everywhere, we saw exited and delighted faces everywhere, we even saw people dancing at the Cyclingworld Düsseldorf. It was truly amazing.

Thank you all!

You made this possible. You made this happen.

Many of our exhibitors have fallen in love instantly with our spectacular venue. Well, what can we say? This is something, that we did warn everybody about way before. The Cyclingworld Düsseldorf offers probably the most spectacular venue for the companies of the bike business all over Europe. You really should be part of it next time and you are truly welcome!

Next CYCLINGWORLD Düsseldorf is on 7th and 8th of April 2018.
