CYCLINGWORLD AWARD ENTERS THE NEXT ROUND
From now until 13 February 2025, exhibitors and non-exhibitors at Cyclingworld Europe can submit their products online for the coveted award. For the first time, the Audience Award and the awards from the expert jury will be awarded separately. The expert jury, comprising a team of six, will personally announce the winners at the opening of Cyclingworld 2025 on 28 March in Düsseldorf.
As in the past seven years, Cyclingworld Europe, taking place from 28 to 30 March 2025, will once again usher in the new cycling season. However, the starting signal for the Cyclingworld Award, a highly sought-after seal of approval for the best products from the cycling world, has already been given: from now until 13 February 2025, both exhibitors and non-exhibitors can submit their products online via the event’s website.
After enhancing the award process at the last Cyclingworld by using a professional expert jury to evaluate the best products from the world of bicycles and e-bikes, further refinements have been made for the upcoming edition. For the first time, the Audience Award, for which anyone can vote online for their favourite product, forms its own category, independent from the expert jury’s judgement. Thus, awards in categories such as Cargo, Road, Urban Classic, Urban E-Bike, Gravel, Kids, MTB/ATB, Fashion & Accessories, and Parts & Technology will be awarded solely by the expert jury, independent of the public vote.
Juror Michael Lanz at the award ceremony March 2024:
“The Cyclingworld Europe Awards have gained even more relevance, particularly with the introduction of an independent expert jury. To ensure greater objectivity, we decided to separate the jury awards from the Audience Award. This allows manufacturers of outstanding new products a fair chance at an award, even if they have not yet built as strong a community as others,” explains Michael Lanz, a product designer and design strategist based in Graz, who will once again chair the expert jury in 2025. Jury member Dirk Zedler, founder and managing director of the Zedler Group, adds: “Few other industries are as diverse, with room for large, professional providers and imaginative small businesses alike. I’m delighted if, in the next event in spring 2025, we can encourage even more companies to submit their products for the Cyclingworld Award.”
In addition to Michael Lanz and Dirk Zedler, Dr. Maike Hora, sustainability expert and managing director of e-hoch-3 eco impact experts GmbH & Co. KG, and Paul Kefer, bicycle specialist and managing director at Munix Finest Bicycles, will also return to the jury. New to the team in 2025 are well-known industry journalist Jörg Spaniol and Juliane Schumacher, founder of the blog radelmaedchen.de, one of Germany’s best-known female-led cycling blogs.
At the expert jury meeting, where all members convene the day before Cyclingworld in Düsseldorf, the best products will be inspected live and awarded in the final jury step, with awards presented in a celebratory ceremony on the opening evening of the bicycle and e-bike exhibition.
