Product description
Lowstep or stepover? At purchase, e-bike buyers must lock in on a frame style. Classic aesthetics or comfortable mounting even when injured, carrying a child seat, or just being lazy. In Germany, most new e-bikes are now so-called E-SUVs, and most E-SUVs are used like trekking bikes, but with enhanced comfort and safety. For most riders, a lowstep might be the best choice. But the aesthetic appeal of a bike with a classic top tube weighs strong for many. The Diamant Suvea features a patented modular Accessory Bar that acts like a top tube with extra functionality to carry gear, but can be removed at any time to convert the bike into a lowstep. This solution works because, structurally, modern e-bikes need no top tube anymore to ensure a stiff and robust frame. Apart from aesthetics, they can at most serve as a carrier for some accessories. But as top tubes are never really built for that, users need weird mounts and adapters. With full-length rails for mounting inserts and straps, the Suvea’s Accessory Bar lifts top tube functionality to a hitherto unknown level. No more lock-in. Simply adjust. Apart from that, the Suvea improves ergonomics and battery handling with a unique and patented 3/4-tilt of the battery opening. This gives the easiest access and reduces downtube length compared to oversized, unergonomic geometries of other bikes. Another patent covers the cable routing. The integrated cables enter the frame in front of the headset. Now, workshops can maintain cables without opening and removing headsets. It’s a significant timesaving of almost one hour per bike compared with previous designs, and it does not force consumers into challenges later in life, because the design is fully compatible with standard components. This design principle applies to the entire bicycle, approaching sustainability from a standpoint of longer-than-life serviceability. Like any new bike from Diamant and Trek, the frame uses Low-Impact Aluminum to reduce emissions during frame production by 50%. Low-Impact Aluminum requires every firm in the supply chain to only use renewable energies, and by pushing our suppliers, we open an avenue for other market participants to benefit from the same improved sourcing process. Do not overlook the Clever Rack Pro, a multi-use rack with integrated break lights. With its D-Wings, the rack has a bespoke solution to protect bags and frames from touching each other, and to over the most comfortable mounting experience to consumers: No adjustment of a pannier bag hook necessary – the bag will fit symmetrically on either side.
