Product description

FPS-ROAD+ Individual ergonomics for sporty racing bike use

Functional balance as a development principle
The FPS-ROAD+ is a custom-made road bike saddle for sporty use. It is based on the conviction that comfort, performance and robustness are not a contradiction in terms, but must be brought into a functional balance. As part of Fingerprint Cycling’s PERFECT FIT SERIES, the FPS-ROAD+ is consistently developed with the human body and its anatomy in mind – based on engineering principles from mechanical engineering and materials science.

From the real seat impression to the calculated structure
The development process begins with the fingerprint memory kit. The rider (whether male or female) creates a seat impression that depicts the real anatomy of the seat bones. This impression is digitized and evaluated together with a detailed questionnaire that takes into account riding style, seating position, area of use and personal preferences. On this basis, specially developed software calculates the individual saddle construction – consisting of a modular shell concept and a calculated 3D structure.

Structure instead of padding – zonally calculated comfort
The 3D-printed TPU structure replaces traditional padding. It is not a comfort pad, but a functional structure whose density, elasticity and recovery behavior are zonally adjusted. Compressed areas support power transmission in the sit bone area, while relieved zones reduce pressure on sensitive structures. Adaptation is not achieved through cut-outs, but through targeted changes to the inner geometry.

Three-shell concept with clear separation of functions
The FPS-ROAD+ is based on a modular platform with a three-shell concept. The lower shell assumes the structural load-bearing function and is designed for power transmission and load-tested to DIN standard. The frame is not glued but bolted to the lower shell to ensure defined load paths and reparability. The central adjustment point is the individually adapted intermediate shell made of TPU, which controls damping and progression. The upper shell carries the individually calculated 3D structure. Depending on the version, PA-CF or carbon is used; carbon is being used for the first time in the FPS series and is manufactured according to our specifications with local partners. Depending on the version, the frame is made of CrMo, titanium or carbon.

Closed 3D surface as a unique selling point
The 3D structure has a closed surface – a unique selling point of Fingerprint Cycling. It distributes the pressure more evenly, avoids local pressure peaks as with open honeycomb structures and increases the robustness of the surface. The anti-slip microstructure is created directly from the 3D printing process. The optional FP-Tex cover on the FPS-Neo adds additional protection and a classic look to the surface without devaluing the function of the 3D structure.

Regional production with an engineering-driven approach
Every FPS-ROAD+ is manufactured in Saarland, by hand and in small batches. Fingerprint Cycling is a start-up from a cycling family with roots in specialist bike retail and racing. This environment characterizes the systemic, manufactory-like approach as well as the technological depth of an engineering-driven development process.

One platform – configurable riding profiles
The FPS-ROAD+ model range includes customer-configurable orientations for the riding profiles: Tour, Endurance, Comfort, Performance and Elite – each for women and men. Designed as a platform, the models differ in terms of material and alignment, but not in terms of basic ergonomic logic. The calculation and manufacturing principles used form the basis for further profile-based models from 2026.

Developed for long-term use
The FPS-ROAD+ is not a product for a quick effect, but for long-term use: individually calculated, reproducibly manufactured and functionally well thought out.
