1Fixedgear Crit

Fixedgear Crit? – This is a race on a winding circuit with track wheels. Without brakes and with a fixed gear. The riding experience is completely different from that of a conventional bike. Due to the fixed hub, the rider has to pedal constantly. Even in the bends. This requires a certain amount of courage and skill. Due to the rigid connection between the crank and the rear wheel, braking is only possible by counter-steering. In fixed-gear races, both accelerating after and braking before the bend is a feat of strength.

The scene is becoming increasingly popular and 1Crit is the first official fixed gear criterium to be held in 2025. If you haven’t had enough of watching yet, you can find out about various upcoming events at lifeisaride and perhaps take part in this exciting sport in the near future.
