OWN THE NIGHT RIDE with Dom Whiting

Düsseldorf, time to conquer the night – UNIT 1 Night Ride with Dom Whiting

To kick off Cyclingworld Europe 2026, a joint Night Ride with Dom Whiting will take place in Düsseldorf for the first time. The ride is part of UNIT 1’s “Own The Night” initiative and is also a joint signal for greater visibility and safety for cyclists in road traffic.

The starting point is the UrbanHub in front of the Schauspielhaus in Düsseldorf city center. From there, the joint ride leads through the city to the Cyclingworld site on the Areal Böhler. The route symbolically connects the city center with the trade fair and opens the weekend where cycling culture actually takes place – on the street.

The campaign focuses on visibility and mutual respect. Good lighting and visible equipment are a decisive factor for road safety – especially in the evening and at night.

All participants are therefore invited to take part with clearly visible bicycle lights, helmets with integrated lights or other lighting.

Together, a ride through the city is created in which many individual lights become a visible sign: for a lively cycling culture, for mutual consideration in road traffic and for safe conditions for everyone on the road by bike. The ride will be accompanied by music from Dom Whiting.
The Night Ride is intended to show how many people in Düsseldorf are out and about by bike – and that visibility, safety and community belong together.

The ride is supported by VisitDüsseldorf and SportsNut.

This is how Cyclingworld begins. Not quietly. Not in the shade. But brightly.

Join us and be part of the first wave that opens the Cyclingworld weekend.

No light? No excuse. Visibility is a must on this ride You can find the Units One helmets & lights here.
