Bottom handlebars – it’s all a question of posture
Electrifying prospects for spring: cruising on the Delta tx e-chair bike from HP Velotechnik is even more relaxed with the new bottom handlebar system

Riding a chair bike has never been so relaxed: HP Velotechnik is presenting the Delta tx with lower handlebars as a European innovation at the Cyclingworld trade fair. This design, well known from sporty recumbent trikes such as the Scorpion from HP Velotechnik, ensures an even more relaxed posture on the elegant electric trike.

In contrast to the design with a top link, the arms remain completely relaxed next to the body. The hands, loosely supported by the joint, grip the handlebar ends. This means that the rider always has the steering, gears, engine controls and brakes under control. However, the difference to the top handlebars previously used in the Delta tx is not limited to the completely relaxed body posture. In the pilot’s seat, you can now enjoy a unique, completely unobstructed panoramic view that sweeps openly across the landscape beyond your pedaling feet.

HP Velotechnik has developed a globally unique solution for the adjustability and adaptation of the Delta tx to people of different heights: the seat dome and handlebar mount are combined in a single component. If, for example, the seat is adjusted forwards for a smaller person on the tried-and-tested design with a sliding carriage, the handlebars simply move with it and remain at the optimum distance and height. Technically speaking, this works by means of a special clamp on the handlebar. Just like the seat attachment, the clamp is opened using a quick-release mechanism and, once the seat/handlebar unit has been moved, it is securely fastened again with a built-in safety lock.

Irrespective of this adjustment to the body length, the lower handlebar can also be ergonomically adjusted in any other direction. The angle of inclination can be adjusted just as variably as a greater or lesser width. An additional advantage of the design with the large and non-slip quick-release levers: people with limited mobility can simply fold the right-hand side of the handlebars backwards to be able to sit on the seat unhindered.

The Delta tx with lower handlebars will be available from May in the colors Blue flash or Sparkling iron gray for a price starting at 6,949 euros from specialist bike dealers.
